Toby: Finding Comfort and Confidence

Toby is an eight-year-old French Bulldog mix who arrived in November 2025 after being found paralyzed and unable to move on a frozen street. He had been hit by a car, and although his previous owners were contacted, they chose not to reclaim him because of his injuries. Thankfully, a veterinary clinic stepped in and reached out to us for help.

Toby underwent spinal surgery to stabilize his back and is now making steady progress through weekly rehabilitation sessions. He has also been fitted with a custom wheelchair to help him navigate the world again. He is incontinent and needs regular bladder expression, along with a caregiver who understands that accidents may happen. He is also more susceptible to urinary tract infections, so careful monitoring is essential. These additional needs require time and patience, but Toby has plenty of love to give in return.

After everything he has endured, Toby can understandably feel vulnerable around unfamiliar people. He may nip if strangers approach too quickly, so he needs slow, gentle introductions that allow him to feel safe. Once he learns to trust you, his affectionate nature shines through.

Toby would thrive in a calm, peaceful home where he can continue his recovery with patient, understanding caregivers. With the right environment and a little time, this gentle soul is ready to show just how much love he has left to give.

Could you be the person Toby has been waiting for?
